Tournament Rules

The following rules are brought to your attention to make sure tournament coaches do not jeopardize an athlete's future high school eligibility in an attempt to put together a winning team. Participation in this tournament as outlined above will not adversely affect high school eligibility of WIAA athletes!

Before placing a player on your roster, refer to the WIAA regulations regarding post-season tournaments. Complying with these rules is the responsibility of the coaches and do not necessarily apply to teams competing in post-season leagues.

  1. Grade 9-12 high school coaches will not be permitted to coach athletes in this tournament that they may be coaching next year.
  2. No limits will be placed on those currently participating in a non-school basketball program such as a recreation or church league.
  3. A school district may not be involved in any way - uniforms, transportation, finances, etc.
  4. Other regulations appear in WIAA Bulletins available at your high school.

Tournament Notes:

  1. Dunking will only be allowed at facilities with collapsible rims. See National Federation Rule for legal dunking.
  2. Guidelines for conduct fouls are the same as those followed by the WIAA. This includes WIAA bench decorum as well as conduct on the floor.
  3. Since the first night line-ups are considered as the official rosters of each team for the tournament, all players who will be participating in the tournament must be listed on the line-up prior to the first night’s game (limit of 12).

Thank you and feel free to call the Sheboygan Community Recreation Department at (920) 459-3773 with questions about our tournament.
